Avinash Tripathi is the Founder and Managing Partner of India Counsel Network, with over a decade of litigation, arbitration, and regulatory advisory experience. An Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India, he has appeared in and led high-stakes disputes across commercial, constitutional, white collar, and public regulatory domains.

Avinash holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow and is enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi since 2013. His practice reflects a rare combination of courtroom expertise, regulatory insight, and commercial pragmatism.

His practice spans a wide range of forums including the Supreme Court, multiple High Courts, arbitral tribunals (institutional and ad hoc), and sector-specific bodies such as SAT, CERC, NCLT, and the Consumer Commissions.
Avinash has successfully represented some of India’s largest business groups, PSUs, and multinational corporations in precedent-setting matters relating to energy and infrastructure contracts, shareholder disputes, commercial fraud, and regulatory litigation. His counsel is frequently sought in complex arbitrations, challenges to governmental policy, and disputes requiring urgent interim relief or multi-forum strategy.
Prior to ICN, Avinash worked in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice at Economic Laws Practice (ELP), New Delhi, where he advised clients on a broad spectrum of commercial and criminal litigation, including appearances before the Supreme Court and key regulatory tribunals. At ELP he also actively worked on issues relating to securities law and represented SEBI before the Supreme Court of India. He began his legal career with the chambers of Mr. Amit Anand Tiwari, Senior Advocate, where he was closely involved in high-profile constitutional and criminal matters including the Coal Block Allocation, 2G Spectrum, and Sikh Riots cases.
- Defending a PSU in a ₹150 crore arbitration involving allegations of fraud by a bullion exporter.
- Advising on termination of power purchase and infrastructure contracts exceeding ₹1000 crore in claim value.
- Representing the State of Jammu & Kashmir in a $700 million arbitration arising from contractor abandonment of a hydroelectric project.
- Advising major corporates on regulatory compliance under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, CENVAT provisions, Indian Telegraph Act (net neutrality), and SEBI frameworks
- Successfully representing pharmaceutical associations before the Delhi High Court and Supreme challenging bans on Fixed Supreme Court in Dose Combinations.
